Stryker Hip Replacement Lawsuit:
We are all aware of product recalls; toys made with lead paint or vehicles with faulty weather stripping, but did you know that medical devices can also be recalled? Have you had a hip replacement but are still having problems? Does it sometimes feel like you were better off with your original hip? It could be that your implant was (or should be) recalled. Unlike toys or cars, we cannot simply return or exchange an implant that has been surgically placed inside of a human body. In addition to requiring additional surgery to remove, replace or repair the defective implant, there is the added difficulty of assessing the amount of damage done to the body by the implant not functioning as it should.
Major implant manufactures including DePuy, Stryker and Zimmer, and other smaller manufactures, have had their implants recalled. You may be entitled to money damages if your implant has been recalled or failed due to no fault of your own.
The good news is, you don’t have to take on these major manufacturers on your own. Many of the major defective brands of hip implants have already been the subject of lawsuits. This means, that most of the major issues (which are expensive to litigate) such as fault and liability have already been decided. The only thing that remains to be seen is how much you are entitled to for your pain and suffering.
If you or someone you know has been harmed by defective hip or other implants, you should know that you have legal rights and options available to you. For more information about or to retain Garmo & Kiste, PLC, call us at (248) 398-7100 for a free consultation or contact us with a private message.
